BloggingTips.com Has Got A New Design – 3 Secrets

BloggingTips.com Has Got A New Design – 3 Secrets

Hurry, BloggingTips has got a new look!

I've been a regular contributor on this blog and I must say it's one of the best moments I cherish as a writer.

I was glad to see the new design, an awesome theme and how customized everything was.

But that's not all; I think Zac has done a fantastic job with this new project. It's the best decision ever. Kudos to you!

Admiring the design is good, but more has to come in. Our goal with BT is to ensure you grow your own blog and bring it to an A-list level.

Below, you'll find 3 secrets that can help your blog experience a meteoric growth. You don't have to stand to watch how others are doing it, get started today:

1. List Building Is "Vital"

If you look at the BloggingTips homepage, you'll see leads capture system at work. Zac has decided to focus mostly on capturing readers' email addresses and every visitor who comes to check out latest stuffs here.

Does it mean he should have started building a list earlier? Off course, he has an optin box on the sidebar – which generates trickles of leads I presume, but that's not enough for building a blog empire. You need to totally focus on building a mailing list.

To help you understand the power of email marketing, here is a quote from my affiliate mentor:

The success of your internet business is directly proportional to the number of people you're able to reach at the click of a button – Ewen Chia

2. Branding Is the Key

How unique is your business to millions of similar businesses around?

When it comes to building a profitable blog, branding is fundamental. Don't try to build a blog first, before instilling the brand image on readers' heart – from the outset, set up systems and platforms to make your blog stand out. Over 100,000 fresh blogs are being launched every day; you wouldn't want to compete with that number.

Bloggers don't have to compete; we only need to complement each other. Find out a 'thought' or information that prospects are searching for and fill it. Zac has created a powerful brand for BT.

Did you see his customized avatar holding dollar bills? Look at the dollar sign inscribed on his shirt, the crown showing kingship and authority. That's branding my dear. Use this same secret to boost your blog.

3. Exclusive, Quality Contents

The last secret I want to share with you on the new bloggingTips design is the exclusive contents on it. Most of the blogs out there that have landing pages as the forefront page do not provide enough quality contents to gladden readers' heart.

But here, if you're not interested in subscribing, you can click the blog (menu link) and dive into the blog itself. Those who were not convinced to subscribe initially would definitely reconsider, having satisfied their taste for exceptional contents.

So, when you're building a list of targeted subscribers, make sure you've figured out the best contents to feed them. People who visit your blog have one thing which is dear to their hearts and they can do anything to get it. Valuable information is what they crave for and if you can't provide it, don't blame them for leaving.

Your backend product should be exclusive, quality contents. Consistently deliver on this and your blog will grow exponentially.
Over to you

What did you like about the new BloggingTips design? Share your comment and views. Your success is sure – see you at the top!

How to Upgrade WordPress via SSH - DailyBlogTips

How to Upgrade WordPress via SSH - DailyBlogTips

Posted: 21 May 2012 05:40 AM PDT

For most WordPress users updating to a newer version is pretty straight forward: log into the WordPress dashboard, click on “Updates” and then select the option to update WordPress. Within 10 seconds or so you are set.
Depending on the settings of your server, though, the automatic update option will not work. In this case you’ll need to perform the update manually, which means deleting and uploading the files via FTP, which takes a lot of time (around 15 minutes for all WordPress files with an average Internet connection).
Is there a better way? Yep, and it’s called SSH. SSH stands for Secure Shell, and it’s a protocol for remote communications. Using this protocol you can basically connect to your server and perform commands as if you were using the computer personally.
Warning: Make sure to backup all your data and databases before trying any type of update, as you could mess things up and lose everything. Try the stuff below at your own risk.
First of all you need to contact your hosting provider to make sure you have SSH enabled on your account. After that you can login to your server by typing
ssh user@mydomain.com
on the command line, and after that you’ll be prompted to put your password. Usually the user and password are the same of your FTP account, but they might be different.
Once you are logged in you need to browse to your public_html directory, which is usually where WordPress is installed. If you are using a sub-directory, navigate to it. Then type this to download the latest WordPress files:
wget http://wordpress.org/latest.tar.gz
After that type this to decompress the file:
tar xfz latest.tar.gz
Next we need to delete the wp-admin and wp-includes directories, which you can do with the following commands:
rm -rf ./wp-includes
rm -rf ./wp-admin

Now you want to move the new wp-admin and wp-include directories to the root, so type the following commands:
mv ./wordpress/wp-admin ./
mv ./wordpress/wp-includes ./

Finally, go inside the WordPress directory with
cd wordpress
and copy its content to the parent directory (i.e., the root) overwriting the old ones:
cp -rpf -f * ../
Finally, type “cd ..” to go back to the root directory and delete both the tar file you downloaded and the wordpress directory with this:
rm -rf ./wordpress/
rm -f latest.tar.gz

That’s it. All you have to do now is to run the upgrade script on your WordPress install (i.e., domain.com/wp-admin/upgraded.php).

Schedulling Blog Posts and Automating Everything Else

Scheduling Blog Posts and Automating Everything Else

The only truly non-renewable resource is your time and that’s why it pays to find ways to give yourself more time. Outsourcing, as mentioned in earlier articles, can prove very fruitful in this regard. Another way that you can save some precious time is to automate the tasks that would otherwise occupy an increasingly large part of your blogging day.

Must Have WordPress Plugins that You Will Love!

Must Have WordPress Plugins that You Will Love!
As you probably know, WordPress is the way to go and the tool to use for a fast and painless online business project. The only problem with that is the way how WordPress works. It has some core features that allow you to create posts and pages… and maybe one or two more things. And that's pretty much it. The good thing is that there are like thousands of widgets and plugins out there that allow you to DRASTICALLY change the way WordPress operates. Rest assured I'm not about to talk about all of them now. I don't even know most of them. To be honest there's no need to do that, because once you have a need for some feature or, simply put, functionality, you can just go to the Plugin Directory section of WordPress.org and search to your heart's content.

Leveraging social media means choices

One of the first things that people who work on the Internet will tell you is the choices for the marketing that you can do can be overwhelming unless you've got a clear plan. That plan needs to include social media and here are few options that will help you to get a little more from some of the more popular choices.
Facebook does a lot of different things for different users and while there are tons of people who use a personal account to get the word out on their goods or services, not everyone knows a business page is available as well. It's a simple process to get started and all you need to do scroll to the bottom of s personal Facebook page, click Pages, and then Create A Page. The things that's different here from other kind of social media marketing is the fact that you'll need to spread the word about your new page organically.

    "Hai (blogger nama),

    Hey (blogger nama),

3. Berita Yang Disajikan Up To Date .

Misalnya : "Info CPNS DKI Jakarta Di Situs Resmi Pemkot Jakarta.Go.Id Tahun 2010". Judul ini adalah gabungan seluruh keyword tentang Info CPNS Jakarta 2010, coba cek saja sob!

5. Perhatikan Pagerank Situs Pesaing Anda Di Keyword Judul Postingan. What Is High, Normal And Low Bounce Rates?

In the past I already explained what is bounce rate, and why small and new websites tend to display their bounce rates incorrectly. Today I want to talk about what is considered to be high, normal and low bounce rates.
The first thing we need to consider is that every type of website will have a different ballpark number for what is considered high, normal and low bounce rates. Online forums, for examples, will naturally have lower bounce rates when compared to blogs, because people tend to read many threads on forums, while blog readers might visit the site to read a single post and move on.
The second thing to consider is the fact that a high bounce rate might not be a bad thing. If you have a website where your priority is to make money with ads, for example, you’ll want people to click on these ads, so a high bounce rate would mean you are well optimized (provided people are bouncing by clicking on the ads and not by closing their browsers’ tabs).
With that out of the way let’s talk numbers.
As far as blogs go I would say that a high bounce rate is one above 70%. It’s a high number, but that is because blogs are naturally “bouncy.” Blogs have many subscribers, and those are users who might visit the blog only to read the latest post.
If you have many ads on your blog, and making money with them is one of your priorities, then a high bounce rate might be acceptable. For example, on my other blog my bounce rate is around 82%, and I am fine with that because the CTR on my ad units is quite high.
If you don’t have many ads on your blog and your priority is to grow your traffic and audience, then your bounce rate should be between 40% and 70%, which is the normal range in my opinion.
Finally, if you have exceptionally engaging content and a very user friendly design you might get your bounce rate below the 40% mark, which I consider to be low (and therefore very good).
Over To The Readers
Defining what is high, normal and low bounce rate is always tricky. If you research around the web you’ll find all kinds of answers. That is why I wanted to ask you guys what is your bounce rate (if you know it) and what you consider or heard to be high and low bounce rates.

Why Your Story Matters

One of the first things I’ve started saying to my new clients is: “Tell me your story.”
Which seems like a strange thing to say, considering that the blogosphere is rife with people telling their stories. Person X blogs about their new cat, Person Y blogs about where they went to dinner last night, and honestly, readers could care less about both of those people.
There are two types of bloggers out there. The first type talks about themselves in diary fashion, writing ad nauseam about cats and dinners. (If you want examples, of what I mean, surf Blogger.com randomly. I’d guess that 99% of personal blogs on Blogger are written for Grandma’s interest, if anyone’s.)
The second type of blogger writes about business, and only business. You might actually say they’re hyper-focused on business because they don’t want to be confused with the I-write-about-my-cat crowd. What’s your blog about? Why, it’s about circuit board repair. Today we’ll be continuing our exploration of the many different kinds of solder.
Most of the people who hire me as a coach are blogging about finance, or human resource management, or fashion, or any number of other specific topics. Usually, these people are trying to sell something, and turn their blog into a living. Usually, they’re very good and knowledgeable about what they do — and in a fair world, they’d be considered authorities that people interested in that speciality topic should listen to.
But, despite all of this, they’re not really getting anywhere, and the root problem always boils down to the same thing:
They don’t stand out. They’re one of a million people doing what they do.
The internet is a big place. You want to write about finance? So do five million other people. I don’t care how much you have to say about the very best no-load index funds; I can find similar opinions in dozens of other places just by typing a few words into Google. This speciality thing of yours? It’s a commodity.
If you want people to stick around — and read your thoughts on finance instead of those of any one of the other financial blogs — you’ve got to realize a fundamental blogging truth:
Readers don’t form a loyal bond with the information in your blog. When things work, it’s because they’ve formed a loyal bond with YOU.
And that’s where your story comes in.

How to sell with stories

I’ve been fortunate in my blogging career, and saw a lot of success very quickly. I didn’t realize it at the time, but I owe that success to the fact that I instinctually understood two principles:
1. Blogging is selling
and
2. Stories are a great way to sell
Let’s say you run a charity blog. Or it’s a “movement” blog, trying to generate momentum for some thing or another. Or let’s say you do run that circuit boards blog, but you’re not selling tech consulting or an e-book. You’re just trying to establish some expert status, by getting a lot of readers and followers.
None of those blogs are about selling, right?
Wrong. All blogging is selling.
I sell blog and website setups, coaching, and information products (including one on how to sell using stories, ahem) on my blog. I also refer other trusted folks through affiliate promotions. So you’d look at my blog and think, “This guy sells stuff.” But in the above examples I just gave, the tendency is to totally miss the fact that you’re selling simply because money isn’t changing hands. And that would be a mistake.
You’re selling yourself as an expert. You’re selling someone else on the idea of promoting your cause, or talking about you. You’re selling readers on finishing the post, leaving a comment, or coming back. Want to guest post? Well, I personally had to sell Daniel on accepting this one, and that’s true of any guest post, or JV, or anything involving another person… which is everything.
The problem with selling is that it’s ultimately one person trying to get another person to do what they want. If you’re selling right, what you want that other person to do is something that will benefit both of you, and if that’s true, selling becomes far easier. But you’re still selling. You still have to overcome resistance, or maybe just inertia. That person flitting by your blog? They have other things on their to-do list. Why should they read your stuff?
If you engage them first with story, you disarm people. You catch them in a tale first, and instruct later.
When I was promoting my course Question the Rules, which is an instruction manual for being a punk rock entrepreneur, I didn’t try to lay out the course’s benefits up front. Instead, I told the story of my days as a punk rock kid. What did that kid learn? And how is it exactly like what an entrepreneur has to learn when working outside of the nine-to-five, straightlaced life?
People would read that story and instead of thinking, “This guy is trying to sell me something,” they thought, “Hmm, I’m not unlike him. I guess I am kind of a punk rock entrepreneur.”
The guy writing about circuit boards might talk about why electronics fascinated him as a kid, and why he’s so passionate about circuitry. Try to make the readers feel just as passionate, rather than merely try to interest them in the technology.
The finance blogger should eventually spill his “origin story,” and talk about how he used to work in a brokerage, but got tired of the greed and corruption and yearned to get out there and tell the real, no-BS, no-hype truth about how real people should manage their money for maximal returns.
Your stories should have a point, of course. But the most important thing is that you should tell them.
Give it a try. As you get the hang of it, I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the way your stick times and readership numbers increase.

How Do I Get Stuff to Review?

In my last post I talked about whether or not Contests are viable sources for blog traffic. After a week of the contest I can say that my traffic has totally jumped and I now have quite a few new readers. So, I would say that contests do have a way of growing your traffic. Also, it has been very fun for me to do this contest. During this I was asked by a reader how I get things to review.
How I get things to Review
When I decided that I wanted to get into doing reviews I sort of mapped out a plan.
1. Start reviewing items I already own
2. Connect with a review company
3. Look for products I like and would fit my audience
4. Ask directly of brands
5. Form a Media Kit
Start Reviewing Items I Already Own
I was not being asked to review products so instead I looked at products in my house and decided to start reviewing those things. I hit upon the idea of reviewing Children’s Books. We were going to have a baby soon and we were already getting tons of books for her library. I was able to read them quickly and write up little reviews. I eventually branched into reading the books and review them as I read the book and do it on video.
Connect with a Review Company
There are plenty of sites out there where you can connect and get into the reviewing gig. For parent bloggers there is Dad Central Consulting, My Blog Spark, Mom Central Consulting and many more. With a review company at your back you can try for bigger and better things to review and also learn from other reviewers.
Look for Products I Like and Would Fit my Audience
Search for products that you think would certainly fit your audience. If you start reviewing things that do not fit your audience then they will not want to hear what you have to say. You can certainly introduce interesting new things from time to time, owever do not forget the audience.
Ask Directly From Brands
Many brands have PR firms and you can try and connect with them directly to get review products. For me I’ve written posts directly to companies because I was interested in their products. Sometimes they have sent me products and sometimes they have not. I would never know unless I asked. When you ask make sure you back it up with some numbers that would make it worth while for the company.
Form a Media Kit
Package up all of your own offerings for PR firms and brands and make it easy for them to find and work with you. This is where you can highlight some of your best work as well as how it was received by your audience.
Any other Ideas? Please share them in the comments.

Why Written Content Won’t Be Replaced

The other day I was putting together another news article for Big4.com and it occurred to me there’s a big difference between solid Internet advertising techniques and fads that come and go. The thing that really caught my eye happened when I was writing an article based on a Deloitte press release about social media and how business is moving toward it tentatively.
The research that I did states although 65 percent of respondents plan on using social media for their businesses, a large number of those surveyed are unclear about what the return on their investment will actually be. The whole push behind the Deloitte survey seems to be defending the idea that business knows it needs to use social media but it’s not really sure why.
One of the problems helping to foster this kind of uncertainty is the fact there’s no clear way to measure the effectiveness of places like Twitter or Facebook in driving traffic and sales. Of course there are people who argue social CRM is the answer that will quantify how productive social media is as an advertising tool, but like many other things on the Web, this technique is in its infancy and nowhere near as reliable as business needs to make a full commitment to social media.
The whole argument reminds me of when you could first place a video on your website and all the hoopla that surrounded that new technology. If you listened to the kind of hyperbole that was blazing across the Internet at that time, you'd be sure that written content was dead. Now it’s all about social media and how this latest craze is poised on the brink of changing the way business does business with the younger generation.
Granted, there’s no doubt people are buying more on the Internet than ever before and  the wise business person takes a look at every means available to get the word out on their goods or service, but they need to be able to differentiate from fads and complimentary techniques that improve but do not replace good content.
In other words, I think the Deloitte survey highlights a good point about social media and it's quite simply that business doesn’t trust it fully yet. Of course the Internet way of selling goods and services is all about engaging the customer but from a business standpoint there have to be quantifiable results to any kind of advertising campaign and up until now social media doesn't provide that.
For now, it all comes back full circle. If you're starting out in business or looking to upgrade or change your advertising techniques, make sure you don't go along with those people who are trying to reinvent the wheel right away. Obviously you won't break the bank by getting a Facebook or Twitter account to help you get exposure, but try to remember that articles, good optimized web pages and even blogs are the tried and true method of getting traffic that drives sales.

5 Reasons Online Collaborations Can Help You Beat Out The Competition - DailyBlogTips

The dictum that two heads are better than one can apply to many things, including blogging.
I collaborate with my brother on five websites, which makes me uniquely qualified to explain the benefits of online collaboration.
Here are 5 reasons collaborating with a partner can help you beat out the competition.
1. More variety in your writing. Single-authored blogs with the exception of guest posts will always be based on the standpoint of one author. Having a partner that writes posts with you ensures that your blog will always be filled with variety and fresh ideas.
2. Proof each other's posts. Spelling and grammar mistakes occur in even the most popular blogs. Having a partner ensures you always have someone to proof your writing. Your partner can also let you know when your writing isn't clear and flowing as well as it should be.
3. Make a good product amazing. If I show my partner a "final product", he can take a look and give me a few additional ideas and tweaks that can make what I've written even more powerful. This process has helped my brother and I make humor pieces go from funny to downright hilarious (at least to us).
4. Combine your skill set to create new websites that kick-ass. The most recent site I've launched with my brother is a funny online comic called the Spicy Tornado. I draw the comics and my brother colors them in. By sharing the duty of creating each comic neither of us becomes overwhelmed by it. Combining our unique skill set in the creation of each comic makes for a finished product of the highest quality.
5. Significantly increase your capacity to promote. Without promotion your site won't go anywhere no matter how quality it is. By doubling your capacity to promote your chances of gaining momentum multiply. For example, your partner can maintain your site while you do a guest post campaign. Also, you now have two twitter accounts instead of just one and double the connections with people who can link to you and promote you.

The down side of collaborating with online ventures

The two greatest downsides are that you must split profits and find someone you can trust completely.
It goes without question that collaborating is not for everyone and involves risks.
I'd argue, however, that considering the sheer competition out there, the upside of collaborating with a partner with online ventures overwhelms the downside.
What's your take on collaborating with online ventures?

Berapa Jam Waktu Anda Untuk Mengurus Blog

pertanyaan dan answersThis pos bagian dari Jumat Q & A bagian. Jika Anda ingin mengajukan pertanyaan hanya kirimkan melalui formulir kontak.
Bill Yann bertanya:

Mengakses PLR Search Engine

Hal Penting Dalam Memilih Web Hosting

Web Hosting
